The recruiting process ended up being a really unprofessional experience. I was first contacted by their internal recruiter about the Enterprise Account Executive position. The initial screening call was fine, and then I spoke with the Hiring Manager, which was great. I also interviewed with the RVP, and I thought that went fine too, but apparently not. Their recruiter never followed up with me and just ghosted me. If they didn't want to proceed, they should have at least let me know. It reflects really badly on the company, especially since they sell HR software. Also, there were two major red flags that concerned me. For the Enterprise Account Executive role, the starting salary is $125,000, which is quite low for the current market. But the real kicker is that after six months, they drop it to $100,000! I've never seen anything like that before. The other red flag is the commission structure. You get paid for services, but only 50% of the earned commission is paid when the implementation starts. The remaining 50% is held back until the project is finished and the client is live, which could mean waiting several months or even years for the rest of the payout.

The interview process was really well put together, very informative, and moved fast. I talked with my Director, RVP, and some colleagues. It was a good experience overall. The whole thing took about a month.

I applied for this job in January 2018 and got a quick response from a recruiter. We had a phone interview the next day where we discussed my background and what I could offer. She mentioned the next step would be an in-person interview and said she'd be in touch in two weeks. After waiting until mid-February with no word, I emailed her. She replied that the company was reorganizing territories and she'd get back to me soon. Another month passed, and by mid-March, I still hadn't heard anything. I reached out again, and she gave the same excuse about territory rearrangements. By May 2018, I never heard back. I felt strung along, and it seemed unprofessional given the company's supposed values. I found out from a contact that the company was hiring and still had openings, which made the recruiter's explanation seem unlikely. Reading other reviews, it seems like many people have had similar issues with Paylocity's recruitment process, which I found unethical and disappointing, especially for an HCM company.
