it's pretty simple: apply online first, then a quick phone call to make sure you're available, interested in sales, and have some customer service background. after that, you'll have an in-person interview, usually with the department manager and maybe another manager. they'll ask you behavioral questions like 'tell me about a time when...' focusing on selling, dealing with tough customers, teamwork, and hitting targets. you might also do a quick walk around the floor or shadow someone to see how you talk to customers and how you'd upsell. if everything goes well, they'll get back to you in a few days to a week with an offer and then the background check and onboarding stuff.

The interview process for a Nordstrom Sales Associate is usually pretty easy and chill. You apply online or in person, and then you might have a quick phone chat about when you can work and what experience you have. The main part is an interview, either in person or virtual, with the store manager or someone in charge of a department. They'll ask you stuff about customer service, if you've done sales before, how you are with a team, and how you'd deal with different customer problems. Sometimes they'll do a quick role-play thing or a practice selling scenario. It's usually not a high-pressure situation, and if it goes well, they often give you an offer pretty quickly, like within a week.

So the whole thing - first I talked to the Hiring Manager, who asked me some basic stuff to see if I was actually interested in the job, if I was a good fit, and if I had the right qualifications. Then, I had a Backend + Coding interview. This was based on the technologies I'd used before, and it involved some architectural questions, followed by a coding challenge to solve a problem of medium difficulty. Lastly, there was a Frontend interview focusing on React, specifically at an advanced level and including unit testing.

It was a really long interview process, even though I was recommended by my manager and had been in the position for 5 years. They tend to make every process longer than usual. It wasn't that complicated, but after the tenth interview and facing questions not related to the role, I felt like it was all about playing games.
