Behavioral Other

The interview process for a Nordstrom Sales Associate is usually pretty easy and chill. You apply online or in person, and then you might have a quick phone chat about when you can work and what experience you have. The main part is an interview, either in person or virtual, with the store manager or someone in charge of a department. They'll ask you stuff about customer service, if you've done sales before, how you are with a team, and how you'd deal with different customer problems. Sometimes they'll do a quick role-play thing or a practice selling scenario. It's usually not a high-pressure situation, and if it goes well, they often give you an offer pretty quickly, like within a week.

Behavioral Presentation Other

The interview process was really chill and easy. The manager was very warm and friendly, and none of the questions were too difficult. There was a sale practice section where I had to pretend to sell an item to a customer, but it wasn't too hard. The manager gave me some guidance and clarification on the practice scenarios. Other questions included things like how you deal with competition, conflict, unhappy customers, teamwork, as well as availability.

Behavioral Technical

So, first thing is you apply online. Then a recruiter calls you to chat about your background, when you can work, and if you're interested. If they like you, you'll have more interviews. For sales jobs, it's usually in person or video with the store manager, talking about helping customers and selling stuff, and how you fit with Nordstrom's vibe. If you're going for other jobs, like corporate or tech, it's more rounds, maybe tests and group interviews to see your skills and if you're a good fit. For managers, they ask about tough situations and big-picture thinking, plus your leadership style. If it all goes well, they'll offer you the job, first verbally, then in writing, and run a background check. They really care about being professional, great customer service, and fitting in.
