Behavioral Technical

I had a disappointing interview experience where they kept asking for my salary expectations, and I had to ask for their range. I told them my minimum, but they said they couldn't share compensation details until after the technical interview. A week later, they gave me an offer way below what I said I needed. I still went through with the interview for practice. The technical interview was with a senior person, and it was uncomfortable. They questioned my background dismissively, even asking how I got my last job, which felt undermining. Overall, there was a lack of transparency and respect.

There were two interviews for this role, and they were both based on a case study. They wanted to know about the analysis methods I used, the models I picked, and why I made those choices. It was a way for them to see how I made decisions and how my methods and models backed up what I found in the study. It was pretty technical, but overall a good interview experience.

The application process had two interviews and was pleasant and clear. Both interviews focused on my background and experience as a technical consultant in the energy sector, supplemented with questions about my working methods and problem-solving skills. The interviews were substantive, but not unnecessarily difficult or complex, and mainly allowed for an open dialogue about my knowledge, motivation, and how I would fit into the team. Overall, I found the process accessible and professional, with a clear mutual introduction.

The interview experience was alright, not overly challenging and they were helpful in answering my questions. However, it became apparent during the discussion that the job title advertised was not accurate for the role being interviewed for. This was disappointing, as I felt my time was wasted since it wasn't a position I would have accepted even if offered. My concern was confirmed when the rejection letter stated a different job title than the one I initially applied for.
