First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mott MacDonald.
Structural Engineer
The interview had four parts. First, they asked me to talk about myself, why I want this job, and what interests me about it. Second, there were technical questions about shear force and bending moment for beams and a statically indeterminate arch. Third, they asked me strength-based questions, referencing my previous work. Fourth, I got to ask them some questions.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Civil Engineer
It was a 2 step process. First I had an interview with my then supervisor, a senior engineer with 20 years of experience, and a project engineer with 10 years of experience over Teams. Then I was asked to do a final round interview, which I could choose between in-person or Teams. I picked the in-person option and met with most of the team members to get a better idea of the company culture, project team structure, etc
- Can you describe your current roles and responsibilities?
Quantity Surveyor
It's a 2-round interview. They'll ask technical questions about your skills and previous experience. If you join, try to ask more about the projects you'll be assigned to see if it's a good place to grow your career.
- Can you share the most significant challenge you encountered on a project?
- What are your key skills relevant to this position?
- Could you elaborate on your previous work experience?
