This was the most disorganized, poorly planned interview process I've ever experienced. I had an interview with one leader (when there was supposed to have been three) that she didn't seem to prep for. One of the leaders popped into the zoom after it'd started, with camera off and no word, and left before it ended. This interview was followed by nearly two weeks of silence and then a rushed request for a work sample with no context as to what it should include. I was then supposed to interview with all three leaders involved in hiring, but the second interview just included the same person who I met with the first time. It was then I knew my time was being wasted. I was surprised by how unprofessional it all was--from the way the e-mails were written to the lack of direction of the interview conversation. It really reflected poorly on Humana and I truly think it's for the best things that didn't work out.

This interview process was really unprofessional from the beginning. The first interview was supposed to be a panel but one interviewer didn't even show up. The other interviewer was off camera and didn't respond when I greeted them. Later that same night, I was given a sample report to build with less than 16 hours to complete it. I stayed up late finishing it and then had a final interview. I was prepared and excited for the final interview, but the main interviewer from the first interview (the one who was off camera) was really critical from the start. She was demeaning about my slide deck and belittled my answers. The interviewer who missed the first interview barely spoke this time. The male interviewer from the first round was the only positive interaction. In the end, I got an automated rejection email even after all the work I did. They need to make candidates feel valued.

Provider Relations Representative
The interview felt uncomfortable from the start. The interviewer seemed completely disengaged, barely making eye contact and offering little to no warmth throughout the conversation. Their tone was flat, and their responses were short, making it difficult to build any natural flow or connection. When I answered questions, they appeared distracted—occasionally checking their watch, typing on their computer, or staring off as if their mind was elsewhere. There was no effort to make the conversation welcoming or collaborative. Instead, the atmosphere felt cold and rushed, as though they were simply going through the motions. They didn’t ask any follow-up questions, didn’t smile, and didn’t show interest in my experience or skills. By the end, it was clear they were not invested in the process, which made the entire interview feel unprofessional and discouraging.
- What would you do if an issue arose with a provider?
- What is your approach to handling issues internally?
Data Scientist
Applied online. First up was an AI chatbot interview where I had to type answers to typical behavioral questions and confirm my past experiences. Then, there was a panel interview with three people from the team I'd be joining. The interviewers were nice and the vibe was great. I think I scheduled it late, as they mentioned I was the last person interviewed. They were specifically looking for someone with Power BI visualization skills, which I didn't have direct experience in, so I got rejected about 10 days after the interview.
