First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Humana.
Customer Service Representative
You'll need to submit your application online via the Humana careers site or other job boards. Make sure to attach your resume and fill out any extra info they ask for. After that, a recruiter might give you a quick call to chat about your background, experience, and why you're interested in this job. They'll probably ask about your availability, what salary you're looking for, and your past customer service gigs. Sometimes, you'll have to take an online assessment to check your communication skills, how you solve problems, and if you're good with computers. Then, there's usually a one-on-one or panel interview with the hiring manager or team lead, which could be virtual or in person. They'll likely ask you behavioral questions using the STAR method, so be ready to talk about past situations, tasks, actions, and results, especially concerning handling angry customers, dealing with tricky situations, and juggling multiple tasks.
- Can you share an instance where you dealt with a challenging customer and what steps you took to resolve the issue?
Customer Service Representative
So I first had this recorded interview and then after that, I interviewed with two hiring managers. One of them was late so we ended up starting a bit late. The questions were pretty standard and not hard at all. They mentioned they would personally call me to let me know if they wanted to proceed. But instead, I got an automated rejection email which I had gotten just for applying, not even interviewing. I was really surprised they reached out to someone who interviewed this way to tell them they didn't get the job. So unprofessional as an employer!
- How would you handle a challenging customer?
Customer Service Representative
The hiring process kicked off with a virtual pre-screen, which involved some basic questions asked via text. After that, I completed an on-demand video interview. This required me to record an introduction and then respond to some questions that popped up on the screen, all without talking to a live person. I recorded and sent in the whole thing, and they reviewed it. They even gave me some helpful stuff to get ready for it. The next step was a virtual job experience assessment that lasted about 20 minutes. It involved watching some videos and then completing a couple of tasks. Finally, there was a virtual interview with two people. We began with introductions, then I answered five interview questions, and I got to ask them questions at the end.
- Can you share an instance where you regretted how you handled a customer interaction and would have preferred to do it differently?
