Behavioral Presentation Technical

This Director-level role's interview process started off fast, with quick feedback and scheduling. But later on, things got messy and it seemed like there was a lack of leadership accountability. I had to go in person, but no one was there because the team was working remotely. I was asked to do a presentation with barely any direction, and I spent a lot of time making sure it was strategic. After presenting to senior people, I had a 'sync' with the hiring manager that was basically another interview where I had to repeat myself. They said I'd get feedback in a week, but I heard nothing for weeks, and had to chase them myself. The feedback, when it came the day before a holiday, was a basic rejection with no details after months of interviews. Then they scheduled a feedback call, rescheduled it, and the hiring manager didn't even show up for the second one. After waiting 20 minutes, it's clear they don't respect senior candidates. Be careful about the time commitment here; the leadership seems to have trouble with basic organization and professional courtesy.

Behavioral

I was optimistic about the Head of Brand role because the company said they were professional and respected candidates. The recruiter was clear, said I was a great fit, and promised feedback in a few days, but never followed up. It was radio silence after the interview, with no response, no explanation. This was really unprofessional and went against their stated values. It makes me question how they operate internally and if their values are just for show, since they couldn't even manage basic courtesy with a senior candidate.

Behavioral Case

I went through 3 rounds of interviews, and I think there are 4 in total. The first was a quick chat with HR about my understanding of the role and job description. Then, a virtual call with someone from the team where I answered competency-based questions like 'describe a time when have you had a disagreement with a colleague and have had to compromise' and 'tell me about a time you have had to champion something that others might not have agreed with'. The third round involved a case study, giving me a task typical for the role. The team and HR were great, accommodating my schedule and communicating well. I even got feedback, making it a positive experience.

  • Tell me about a situation where you had to advocate for something that didn't have widespread agreement.
  • What do you know about the role and the job description?
