Behavioral Case Presentation

Started with a casual phone chat, probably with a recruiter, just to get to know me. Then, a Zoom call with a hiring manager to dive deeper into the role and responsibilities, and to see if my background was a good fit. The next part was a Case Study, which I had to present later. The recruiter sent the case study details, and I had to present it to the hiring manager and their team. Honestly, the instructions weren't super clear, and since it was my first time doing a case study (which I mentioned a lot), I had a ton of questions. When I asked the recruiter for clarification, they just told me to 'not overthink it and give it a go'. The whole vibe and my research suggested a really open, collaborative culture, but then there was a lot of tough questioning about my case study presentation, which is fair, but I wish I'd had clearer expectations beforehand.

The process was very structured but very long. There were many rounds in total. It started with a brief phone interview, then a meeting with 2 HR managers, followed by a role play and a take-home case study. After that, there was another meeting and a final discussion in the last round. I received positive feedback quickly after the first 4 rounds. However, after the last round, I immediately got rejected, which annoyed me a bit, considering how much time was invested in this application process.

The interview process moved along pretty quick, but involved lots of interviews that were pretty lengthy. First I had a 15 minute interview with HR, then two back-to-back phone interviews with internal future colleagues, then a 5 hour in-person/skype interview. First it started with an hour long lunch interview which was extremely casual, leading to 2 in person interviews and 2 skype interviews. I received a call with an offer 3 days later. The whole process was about 3 weeks long from the initial application.
