& Process

The interview process was quick. There were two main parts: first, an HR interview to check my background, experience, and overall fit. Then, a technical interview with two senior engineers where I had to work on an existing project, fix issues live, refactor code, and talk about design decisions and improvements.

The interview process involves three rounds plus an initial HR chat. The first round assesses if you are a good fit for the job by matching your skills to the job description. The second round is about checking if you fit into the company's culture and ethos. The third round focuses on whether you have a growth mindset. You'll be assessed by multiple people throughout, ensuring a very unbiased evaluation.

There were four interview stages in total. The first two interviews were with HR, each lasting 30 minutes. The second HR interview was with the head of HR. Both of these interviews focused on motivational and behavioral questions. The third interview was with the finance manager, which lasted an hour. This interview included a 30-minute presentation of a case study I had prepared beforehand (I had about a week to get it ready). The remaining 30 minutes of this interview were also spent on behavioral and motivational questions. The final 30-minute round was with the director, and it also consisted of more motivational and behavioral questions.

It was a pretty simple interview with some straightforward data engineering challenges. We covered python, SQL, and an architectural question. The questions were about sales data models and how to set up an architecture for processing sales in real-time. They gave me a lot of freedom to think and share my thoughts on the problem.
