Behavioral Technical System Design

It was a 3-step process. First, an HR call to talk about my motivations and salary expectations. Then, a technical interview where we discussed how to build Feature A, kind of like a design interview. Finally, a manager interview focused on behavioral questions and explaining the project's scope.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain how you would implement a stock update system?

Behavioral Technical Coding

The interview process was pretty standard: first a screening interview, then two technical interviews, and finally a cultural interview. The screening call felt robotic, more like form-filling than a conversation, which was a bit discouraging. However, I passed and decided to see how it would go. The technical interviews were much better; I really enjoyed chatting with the team and learning about the company and my role. After positive feedback, I was invited to the final interview. Unfortunately, the day before, I was informed about layoffs and that the position was no longer available.

Technical Coding

This was the worst interview process that I have been subject to in a while. I had a phone interview which had to be rescheduled because they didn't call me at the scheduled time. They asked many Python questions which I answered. They later emailed me a vaguely worded coding exercise without really specifying the attributes they were looking for in the solution.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you explain the differences between threading and multiprocessing in Python, and also tell me about the Python GIL?
  • Please write a supermarket simulation as a coding exercise.
