The interview process consisted of several calls with different decision-makers. During these calls, it seemed like there wasn't much agreement on how the company planned to tackle key issues concerning account growth and expansion. The role itself was presented as more of an experiment or pilot, which made me wonder if the position had a clear purpose and long-term commitment. For the process, I was asked to put together and deliver a very specific 15-point presentation on how I'd address the company's growth challenges. While I get the idea of detailed interview tasks, this seemed like a lot for where I was in the interview stages, and it felt like they might have been looking for strategic consulting instead of assessing a candidate for a set role. All in all, the process felt a bit disorganized and, at times, didn't seem to consider the significant time candidates need to invest. Also, hearing casual profanity during the interview was unexpected and not what I'd typically expect in a hiring process. Based on this, the interview process didn't make me feel confident that the organization currently has the alignment or structure to really reach its potential. Good thing I was already out and knew it wasn't going to be a fit.

I had an interview with the recruiter, my potential manager, a solutions architect, and my manager's boss. After that, I did a take-home technical test. Then, I had to give a presentation to those same people, plus a senior engineer and the SVP of Solutions Engineering. I got an offer a few days later and everything was finalized within a couple of weeks.

The interview process was quite long, spanning exactly two months from the initial recruiter contact. I went through a total of 7 interviews, one of which involved a demo. Most interviewers were pleasant, though not deeply technical. The questions felt very similar and generic, making the experience a bit repetitive. They didn't share much about the specific goals or agenda for each interview, which is probably part of their vetting strategy. The most frustrating part is that after investing about 10 hours across 7 interviews, I received an automated rejection with absolutely no feedback once a decision was made.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I was told there would be five interviews. After finishing those, and after the final interviewer said I was done, they unexpectedly asked me to do a time-consuming case study and give a presentation. I worked really hard on the presentation and the panel loved it, saying things like “excellent,” “really extensive,” and “super helpful.” The recruiter even told me I scored better than the other finalists. But then, they told me I didn't get the job, and didn't say why. The whole process felt all over the place and disorganized, with changing expectations and no clear reason for how they made the final choice. My advice to the hiring team: Be honest about the whole interview process upfront, including if there's a case study, instead of adding it later. Make sure you're clear about how much time it will take. And if you tell a candidate they did better than others, explain why they weren't chosen, because otherwise it feels dishonest and like you don't respect their time and effort.
