I had an initial screening with HR. They mentioned that if I moved forward, they'd discuss the benefits, but that didn't happen on the call, and I just got a standard rejection email. It seemed like they're transitioning from old systems (mainframe/AS/400) to new software. They're looking for someone to handle a lot of collections, but HR wasn't very clear on how they wanted that done, beyond just making calls, which feels a bit outdated for 2025/2026. The job posting for their Etobicoke location keeps reappearing, suggesting they haven't found the right fit.

Behavioral Technical

I recently had a great interview experience that felt both professional and engaging. The process was clearly outlined from the start, so I always knew what to expect. Each conversation felt like a genuine dialogue rather than a rigid question-and-answer session. The interviewers were not only knowledgeable but also very welcoming, making me feel comfortable and allowing me to present my best self. They asked thoughtful questions that challenged me to think deeply about my skills and experiences, but also gave me ample time to ask my own questions about the role and the company culture. It was a refreshing change of pace and a truly positive experience from start to finish.

I applied for the role and the very next day got an email for a phone screen. I scheduled it for the following week. The week of the interview, I got an email saying the role had changed and I'd get a rejection email but not to worry, as the old role was being closed out. The email also mentioned we were talking that day, which we weren't. I emailed the recruiter to confirm our interview time, and they apologized for the confusion, saying we were scheduled for our original time in two days. When I got the rejection email, it had someone else's name on it. On the morning of the interview, I received another rejection email, this time addressed to me. I spoke with the recruiter, who got defensive but apologized, explaining the role changed to a people manager role with someone reporting to them in January 2026 (I interviewed in June). This seemed like a red flag, as the job was just posted and they were changing it so quickly. The recruiter described the role, but never let me ask questions, which was the final red flag. She said the next steps were interviews with the hiring manager and VP. I was supposed to hear back the following week, but never did. I followed up with the recruiter via email, but got no response. They didn't even send a generic rejection email. It was a negative experience with many errors and red flags.

Behavioral

My interview process started with a really nice recruiter who gave a lot of detail about the job and the interview steps. Then I had a second interview with the sales manager. This second interview was very different; the sales manager barely looked at my resume and asked if I had any questions about the position. After I asked about three questions, he said it was his turn to ask me questions. I was asked two behavioral questions, and then asked again if I had any other questions for him. I also had a referral for this role. The sales manager seemed disinterested and made comments that made me feel like he already had someone in mind for the job.
