The recruiter, Experis, initially misrepresented compensation expectations. The application involved an IQ test. Then there was a long interview process where I was asked about the company's current tech problems, making it seem like I was working as an unpaid consultant. The role had piled-on responsibilities for failing teams and reported to a failing manager. The final offer was low-ball, matching the recruiter's initial number. The recruiter called without permission and set up a group call to pressure me into accepting the low offer. I emailed about my value and was ghosted. I got another offer with 4x the compensation.

My interview was basically a group panel with about four people. It started with two phone calls where they talked about my experience and asked scenario-based questions, mostly using STAR. After those calls, I had to take an online technician test. Then, the in-person interview focused on STAR questions about general and specific diagnostic skills, checking my knowledge of processes, tools, and checklists for different repairs. It wasn't easy unless you really know your stuff. They offered me a spot on the detail team first to get familiar with the job and work my way up to Technician, showing they're willing to help you develop.

I applied online and spoke with a recruiter within a couple of days. Then I had an initial case study interview. After passing that, I proceeded to a full loop of three interviews held a week later. They informed me they weren't moving forward with my application about 3 business days later, unfortunately without any feedback, although I did like the case studies.

The interview process started with a recruiter call, followed by a first interview that included one case study and a couple of behavioral questions. The super day consisted of two more case studies and behavioral questions, totaling about 5 hours of interviews. My experience was pretty standard, except one interviewer missed the meeting and we had to reschedule and fit them in later. The job was listed for Dallas, Atlanta, and Richmond. When I mentioned I preferred Atlanta over Richmond, the interviewers seemed to lose interest. It was a bit strange; one interviewer spent 15 minutes discussing his background and then told me not to discuss mine as it would be covered in other interviews. All interviewers had been with the company for over 15 years and appeared somewhat insecure about it. I also couldn't grasp the specific role due to a very vague job posting, and my questions about it were never answered. Despite the weirdness, it was good practice.
