Customer Service Representative
So, first there was a quick 20-minute phone call, then a 45-minute video interview. The people interviewing me were super nice and professional. Mostly, they asked about how I'd handle different situations, like in a behavioral interview. Towards the end, they asked me to pretend to be a customer service rep, memorize some account info, and then deal with a customer who had an issue. I'm still waiting to hear back, but overall, it was a good experience.
- Can you share an instance when things didn't work out as planned and describe your response?
Customer Service Representative
Carmax evaluates your interview performance over your job performance. You need to answer using the STAR method. Try to use these keywords: Customer Service, Functional Expertise, Courageous Leadership, Results Focus.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
Customer Experience Specialist
The interview was done on Zoom. The first 30 minutes was pretty standard. Then for the next 30 minutes, we did a role play exercise to see if my communication style would be a good fit for the company. They give you a sheet beforehand to study. You should focus on connecting with the "customer," finding out what they need the car for, and sounding confident because those are the keys to getting the job. If you mess up during the role play, don't let it throw you off, but make sure to admit it afterward and show that you're eager to learn.
- Tell me about a problem you encountered in a past job. What was the issue, what was your role in it, how did you fix it, and what was the outcome?
