I applied on September 1st and the whole thing took about two months. I got the first HireVue in early October. The final interview was scheduled for mid-November (it was supposed to be late November but they moved it up because I told them I had another offer). The final interview was with HR and a Buyer who had been through the program. They showed a chart and asked for observations and also asked situational questions. A tip for future candidates: point out specific colors and styles that are doing well, and identify trends you notice to back up your analysis. Be ready for a lot of follow-up questions on your observations. During the interview, I found it hard to finish my answers because they kept interrupting with follow-up questions and the Buyer was asking questions really fast, so I had to keep asking her to repeat herself. The buyer also asked about prioritizing 4 tasks to check my thought process. Make sure to mention who you would communicate these tasks to. When I asked questions that worked well at other companies, they responded with “Why are you asking that?”. For example, when I asked about handling missing data situations, the response was that Burlington doesn’t have those problems. The overall vibe felt weird, and questions about my experience seemed to be viewed negatively instead of with genuine interest about the role. Overall, the process felt long and the interview environment didn’t feel very welcoming or collaborative. I honestly think there’s some luck involved in this interview process because it really depends on who you get.

I found this role on LinkedIn and applied. Within two weeks, I got an invitation for a first-round interview. This interview was conducted via HireVue, where I had to record myself answering some questions that were pre-recorded. I had about a minute to think and two minutes to record my answer for each. At the end, there was also a personality test to complete. Unfortunately, I never heard back from them, and my follow-up emails to the recruiting team went unanswered.

I interviewed at the store in Peoria, IL. It was the most unprofessional interview I have ever had. When the hiring manager (I believe she was an assistant manager) met me, there was no greeting. She led me into a small back room and told me not to move my chair closer. Then she interviewed me, asking questions with a bad attitude. At the end, I found out that they don't have full-day shifts available, only a few hours a day. This was a waste of time and gas since I drove from out of town.

So I was told it's a group interview, but really it's just because other people signed up for the same time slot as me, probably for the same job. It's actually a one-on-one interview with the store manager. They asked me about my availability and how I'd deal with upset customers. They also showed me around the store. The manager said if I don't hear back in 72 hours, then I didn't get the job.
