The process was easy and the recruiters were super friendly, really wanting me to do well. It took a while, but we got through it. It was pretty chill, no tests or anything like that, just checking if I'd fit in with the team. They asked about sales stuff and what I've done before.

So, first I had a phone screen with a Recruiter, then a prep call with the Recruiter to get ready for the panel interview. After that, there were 5 separate interviews. The Recruiting Coordinator reached out to get my availability and then confirmed the times we decided on. All the panel interviews were done over video call.

My interview experience with Zulily in 2021 was awful. It took 2 months from the first contact to the final interview, which had 4 rounds. And then they ghosted me. After I gave them so much of my time, they couldn't even send an email to say I didn't get the job. It was so unprofessional, I had nightmares. The first interview had a no-show and I had to reschedule, which took some effort. It was pretty standard. The second interview was a video call with designers where I showed my portfolio. It went well, and I enjoyed talking to them. The third interview involved 4 meetings over about 4 hours with a panel for a portfolio review, and 1:1s with designers and stakeholders. These conversations seemed good, and I felt a connection. They let me split these across 2 days, which was nice. The fourth interview, which I wasn't expecting as I was told there were only 3, was a collaborative design exercise after some prep. A week passed, then another, then another... and nothing. I sent follow-ups but got no reply. I was ghosted. I wouldn't have minded not getting hired if they'd just communicated. This lack of transparency was unprofessional, especially given the time I invested. It was a traumatizing experience.

Technical Behavioral

The interview experience was quite disappointing. It kicked off with an analytical exercise. After a couple of weeks without any feedback, I contacted HR. A month later, I finally heard back that I had passed the exercise. The next steps involved interviews with HR and the hiring manager. Two months passed before HR contacted me about a final panel interview. The day before this confirmed interview, with the panelist names provided, HR reached out again with an update: the process had changed. An additional interview was added with the Hiring Manager and a junior team member for training purposes. Overall, it was a poor candidate experience with a disorganized interview process. I haven't encountered anything like this before. Every candidate deserves feedback, positive or negative. It doesn't give a good impression of the company culture.
