I got referred by an old colleague. It was a long interview process: first a phone interview, then an Excel analytical test. After that, there was a 3-4 hour in-person interview with different people in the company, from the Director to the team members. The whole thing took over 2 months. The HR staff was very unprofessional and had a bad attitude. The offer was very low, and after they made me wait 3 months for work visa processing, even though I'm Canadian, they called me the day before Christmas to revoke the offer. They realized the visa process was expensive after all this time. It was extremely disappointing.

Since I was interviewing internally, the process was pretty standard. Each of the Site Merchandisers sat with me and asked me a few questions. The position itself was very new and it was recently created, so much of the job description was up in the air and subject to change. Many of the questions were about my adaptability to change.

  • How would you handle directors/VPs who are upset because their ideas were not heard in meetings?

Behavioral Technical

It was a really long, tough, and unprofessional interview process. After I got through two phone interviews, I had an in-person interview with five different people. It felt more like joining a sorority with the coffee and niceties. Each interviewer would tell me who would be interviewing me next, describing each person before they came in, in a very personal and inappropriate way.

  • What would you do if you were given a computer and a phone?
  • What would you do if you were under pressure to meet a $500K goal, your assistant was crying, and you didn't know how to proceed?
