I've noticed that sometimes the recruiter part of the interview is great but the hiring manager part is lacking, or the other way around. This time it was the first scenario. The recruiter was awesome - the chat was fast and to the point, she was super energetic and knew a lot, and could talk well about the job and the campus. She didn't leave me with many questions because she covered most things. All communication was on time and professional, including the rejection. The hiring manager interview was the total opposite. She seemed not into it and unprepared, like she just woke up or was already done for the day. She hesitated a lot and asked only three questions. I asked more questions than she did and even said sorry at one point, but I felt I had to since she wasn't leading the interview. She just didn't seem that interested in talking or getting to know me. I get that being a hiring manager can be an extra task for someone, but they're in a leadership role. As someone who has led teams, it was tough to see such a lack of prep and energy during a key part of hiring, especially when I was really excited about the role and got the opposite back.

It was a group interview with two other candidates. We first went onto the sales floor and had to pick out items that fit a certain criteria. After that, we were asked questions in a round-robin format as a group.

It was pretty easy, having more availability is better. They aren’t super strict and it was more of a get to know each other process. Cool vibe and respectful. The more hours and flexibility you have, the better chance you have, but Black Friday and some holidays are required.

Applied online and heard back a week later. It turned out to be a group interview, which I wasn't expecting but had seen in reviews. We were taken to a small back room with four other people. First, we all introduced ourselves. Then, we were taken to the shop floor for a pretend task: helping two girls pick out a gift for their dad. They asked each of us why we selected the items we did, and also asked some other questions. I really think they're more interested in your personality – if you're confident, loud, and outgoing – rather than your actual experience. It was an okay interview, just a bit tough if you're naturally more reserved.
