First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Urban Outfitters.
Sales Assistant
We had a fun group interview with about six other people. We were asked to bring an item that best represents us to talk to the group about. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the hiring managers were very welcoming. Two of us were offered roles with immediate starts if we wanted them.
- Please bring an item that represents you and be ready to discuss it.
Sales Assistant
Applied online and heard back a week later. It turned out to be a group interview, which I wasn't expecting but had seen in reviews. We were taken to a small back room with four other people. First, we all introduced ourselves. Then, we were taken to the shop floor for a pretend task: helping two girls pick out a gift for their dad. They asked each of us why we selected the items we did, and also asked some other questions. I really think they're more interested in your personality – if you're confident, loud, and outgoing – rather than your actual experience. It was an okay interview, just a bit tough if you're naturally more reserved.
- Scenario-based questions, helping customers find an item for an occasion
- Tell me about a time you worked in a team, your role, and the outcome.
- What does customer service mean to you?
Sales Supervisor
I was called in for an interview a week after applying. The interview was in a group of other applicants and out in the middle of the store for all customers to see. Very uncomfortable and nerve racking
- Why do you want to work for Anthropologie?
