Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Urban Outfitters.
Intern
The first step was an online screening. They sent a link where you had to record your answers yourself. You got two tries for each question. There were five questions in total.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your motivation for applying to this role?
- What made you want to apply for this position?
Intern
The first step was a timed interview through an automated website with a set deadline. It was my first time with this format, so I wasn't fully ready. If I had studied more potential questions, I would have felt much better prepared.
- Which retailer do you like the most and give reasons for it?
Intern
I had this hirevue interview that felt a bit weird and tough because there wasn't anyone actually there. The hardest part was trying to show my personality and experience well when the questions were just the basics and I couldn't really expand on them or ask questions back in a conversation. It was definitely a bit awkward.
- Tell me about your background and experience.
- What motivated you to apply for this specific internship?
- Can you share some of your key strengths and areas for development?
