Intern
The interview process involved basic, direct behavioral questions. The interviewer was quite approachable. It felt like they evaluated candidates based on previous internship experience rather than solely on the interview performance. The interviewer was very friendly. It seemed like they were basing competency based on past internship experience rather than the interview itself.
- Can you describe a time you dealt with a conflict?
Financial Clearance Representative
I applied online and got a call the next day to set up a phone screen. I scheduled it for the next day. The recruiter called me earlier than expected. We started the call, and about 5 minutes in, she hung up on me mid-sentence. I called back immediately but got no answer. She called me back a couple of minutes later, laughing, and said her phone system crashed. She continued the interview but was very unprofessional, kept giggling, and I felt like I couldn't communicate properly. It was very strange. The next day, I got an email saying I wasn't moving forward. I'm still shocked by this experience, especially since it was my first time interviewing with UHG and it left a really bad impression.

- Why do you think you would be a good fit for this job?
Pharmacy Technician
So first, they're gonna do a screening, then a quick phone interview, and then a final interview with a hiring manager over a video call. The first interview, nobody showed up. The second interview, they were late, one of the managers was still in bed and seemed hungover, the other was super stand offish and rude, asked a couple questions and then just hung up. The third interview, waited about 20 minutes and no one joined the call. I let the recruiter know and she apologized and said we would reschedule. 30 minutes later I got an email saying the position is on hold and good luck with my job search. It was a waste of my time. I had to pay for childcare, take time off work, and rearrange my schedule for these interviews. I would recommend job seekers to not waste their time with this company.
- What makes me a better candidate for this position than others?
Appeals Representative
I'm really bummed about how the internal hiring process has gone, twice now. Back in Jan 2024, I applied for a job and did three interviews. My manager even talked to my current boss, who said great things. But in March 2024, they told me I didn't get it because they picked someone already in the department. It happened again in April 2025. I applied for another internal role, went through three interviews again, and my supervisor was contacted again and gave a great reference. By July 2025, they said someone else was chosen. Both times took about three months, which was a lot of my time and effort. I really want to grow and improve my skills here, so this pattern is super frustrating. It feels like the internal hiring process isn't open or efficient, and doesn't really help internal people move up. I hope they take this feedback and make it a better, faster experience for people applying from within.
