Sales Director
I applied on LinkedIn and then had a phone screen with the recruiter. She was very polite and thorough. About two weeks later, I had a call with the hiring manager. He was a nice guy and very professional. I was pretty excited about the possibility of working for Trinet. Although I was a bit disappointed when I got rejected later, I don't have any hard feelings. I'd definitely try again for another shot with them.

Software Engineer
So I had my recruiter screen first, then a tech round focusing on coding. They gave me two coding questions, and I got both of them to work with the correct output. The interviewer seemed pretty junior and was more focused on syntax than logic, which made me think they might not have strong tech skills. Trinet could potentially lose out on good candidates if this is how they do their interviews.

Sales
This was a really quick interview process, which was nice. It started with a phone screening with the recruiter, which was actually more detailed than I anticipated. She was super friendly, positive, and enthusiastic, even sending me a lot of info and tips before my next interview. That next interview was with the director. Right from the start, she came off as condescending and like she didn't want to be there. She told me I lacked the necessary experience and suggested I consider an SDR role, despite my 6+ years in sales. I had invested a lot of time studying and preparing, so it felt like a complete waste of my time.
- Can you tell me about your background?
- What are some of your situational questions?
- What are some of your personality questions?
Sales Consultant
The process started with a recruiter call. The recruiter was upfront about the role, compensation, and offer details. Then, there was one interview with the Executive Director and Hiring Manager, which was straightforward. It was a bit unusual that the Talent Acquisition specialist handled the negotiation instead of HR or the hiring manager. The hiring manager didn't show much enthusiasm when I accepted the offer. The whole process felt very fast, which raised some concerns about potential quick hires and fires. There wasn't much information available about the interview process or the day-to-day tasks. The salary for the "Consultant" roles (which are essentially Account Executives or Reps) was in line with market rates, which was surprising given the speed of the hiring process. The ramp-up period for consultants was also quite attractive.
