First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at TriNet.
Sales Consultant
The process started with a recruiter call. The recruiter was upfront about the role, compensation, and offer details. Then, there was one interview with the Executive Director and Hiring Manager, which was straightforward. It was a bit unusual that the Talent Acquisition specialist handled the negotiation instead of HR or the hiring manager. The hiring manager didn't show much enthusiasm when I accepted the offer. The whole process felt very fast, which raised some concerns about potential quick hires and fires. There wasn't much information available about the interview process or the day-to-day tasks. The salary for the "Consultant" roles (which are essentially Account Executives or Reps) was in line with market rates, which was surprising given the speed of the hiring process. The ramp-up period for consultants was also quite attractive.

Sales Consultant
I got this message on LinkedIn about a sales gig. The recruiter really gave me the third degree about my work history even though I'm employed. That's when I knew it was a bad sign and should've just hung up. Then I talked to the hiring manager, and she was really vague and had a negative vibe the whole time. Even after I said I wasn't interested, two recruiters hit me up again about interviewing. Honestly, they seem pretty desperate for salespeople based on how they interviewed me.
- Can you tell me three things you know about our company?
Sales Consultant
I had an initial call with one of their recruiters and she was really sweet and helpful. Then they had me do a lengthy "online interview", which was a pretty long questionnaire that included things like recording a video of a mock interaction, and also writing a prospect email. Afterwards I went through a series of 6 zoom interviews as they saw my background could apply to different verticals. Most everyone I spoke to was really personable and friendly and mentioned that it was a lengthy process because they really wanted to make sure they got the right fit for the job and for the company culture.
- Can you describe your current methods for prospecting leads and list all the different avenues you utilize?
