After an initial automated rejection email in 2025, the HR person contacted me indicating it was an error and scheduled a video interview, but then I received another email saying my profile was no longer being considered. In 2026, I had a first phone call with the same HR person, followed by an in-person interview in Paris with the direct manager, which went very well. I was quickly informed that the process would continue with the French Sales Director and the new CEO. The next two interviews were via video: the first lasted 30 minutes, the second barely 10 minutes. A few days later, I was informed that my application was not selected, with the reasons given being that I speak 'too fast' and that I had interrupted. However, the sales director mostly spoke in a monologue, and I only intervened occasionally. The CEO had only 10 minutes and asked questions back-to-back without breaks or feedback. It was a frustrating experience because the position seemed really interesting, but the process was a waste of time and energy.

The initial interview was with Verónica, who was super friendly and was my main contact. It was a basic screening of my past experience and my strengths and weaknesses. She explained each next step, was really transparent and helpful. Next, I interviewed with Jimena. She assessed my technical skills and past experiences, and we did some role-plays. Jimena was supportive, and I felt comfortable. I was asked to introduce myself in a non-professional way to check my motivations and personality. The last stage was a group interview with four candidates and five executives. I was nervous at first because group interviews are a rare and competitive dynamic. But I ended up feeling comfortable because everyone was friendly and open. I think they wanted to understand each of us better. We mostly talked about motivations, hobbies, and interests, but there were also technical, challenging, and open-ended questions that I used to subtly show my technical sales skills.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

The whole thing took about 2.5 weeks and felt pretty organized and quick. There were three interviews, each about an hour long. First, I chatted with HR. Then, I had a second interview with two people from the team. The final interview was with the Head of Data Analytics and the Head of Agile. I also had to do a business case exercise, which we talked about in the last interview. It all felt professional and engaging, with a good focus on both business sense and if I'd fit in. They communicated clearly and stuck to the schedule. Veronica was great at keeping me in the loop.

The process was really well-organized and clear. It kicked off with a chat with HR, then moved on to technical and manager interviews with the IT folks and the Director. Each part really dug into both tech skills and how well I could communicate. Everyone I talked to was super professional, nice, and really wanted to get a sense of my background and what makes me tick. The last part involved a visit to the Berlin office, which was laid out nicely and gave a good overview.
