Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Treatwell.
Senior Android Developer
Applied online and got contacted by the recruiter. Had a nice and pleasant chat to kick things off, but then the team decided not to move forward with my application without any feedback or reason. When I followed up, the recruiter mentioned the team was looking for something specific, so don't bother applying even if you're overqualified because you might lack that undefined 'special' quality not mentioned in the job description. Very unprofessional experience.
- Can you tell me about the tech stack and tools you've used or are using?
Android Developer
So I went through a long interview process at Treatwell for an Android Developer role, which was a bummer, mainly 'cause they made bad calls and didn't really care about my time. It was 5 interviews over 2 months. There were 2 management interviews, 2 technical ones, and 1 with a big shot exec (like the Owner or CTO). Plus, there was an HR check before every single interview, which felt like way too much red tape and took forever. After all that, they said no based on one answer in a final interview that wasn't good enough. I put in a lot of time and effort with all those interviews, and I didn't even get a chance to explain or fix whatever the issue was. It felt like a really sudden and unfair decision.
- They asked about soft skills during the management interviews.
- There were basic android questions during the tech interviews.
- I did a live coding during the tech interviews.
Senior Android Engineer
The selection process consists of three interviews: one with HR, another with team managers to assess cultural fit, and a third which is a live coding session. The entire process was smooth and conducted very kindly by the person in charge of recruitment.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself and your background?
- What is an area of weakness you are currently working on?
