The company was responsive and clear throughout the interview process. They asked about basic shipping knowledge and software ability. The interviewers were pleasant. It was an on-site interview. There was a big team with two managers leading inbound and outbound departments. I didn't proceed with the interview as I accepted another offer closer to my home.

I had an on-site interview with 3 people: the Marketing Manager, HR, and the Director. It looked like they decided to reject me after I interviewed with two people because I never got to talk to the director. The first interview was with the Marketing Manager and it lasted for 1 hour. She told me to "calm down" right away, even though I was just being confident. She also said she wants "someone aggressive", which she contradicted. It threw me off. She didn't ask many questions, but expected me to talk a lot. She spent most of the time talking about her expectations for the role, not asking questions to see if I fit. I thought it was an interview and would have talked more if she asked more. The HR person was friendly and asked easy questions for about 15 minutes. However, she could barely speak English, even though I told them my Chinese wasn't great from the start.

So the interview process started with a virtual interview, and then I had an onsite at their San Jose office. I was supposed to meet 1-2 people for about 90 minutes, but I ended up talking to 5 people for 3 hours straight. The office vibe was pretty quiet and didn't have much energy, and the receptionist was kind of rude. After the onsite, I had to chase down the Senior HR Manager who originally reached out to me, like, multiple times over the next month. Never heard back though, no answer about my interview. It was pretty disappointing and seemed really unprofessional, maybe says something about the company culture there.

Applied for Firmware Engineer, had a 30-minute technical phone interview about my resume, OS, and computer networks, but never heard back. Then applied for Systems Engineer and was rejected. A Software Engineer team lead reached out, thought I'd be a good fit for a Software Engineer role, and I applied. Got instantly rejected by HR. Team lead said he'd talk to HR. Weeks later, HR called about feedback and then mentioned an offer. The team lead also called about final questions and mentioned waiting on HR for the offer. It's been over three weeks with no updates from HR or the team lead, despite follow-up emails. The communication from this company is really bad and it's been an emotional ride.

  • Can you explain the difference between TCP and UDP?

Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) Interview Questions

Quoted word for word from Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro) interview reports.

The problem involves a 5V DC to a 5V sine wave input connected to a capacitor. This then connects to a 12V DC input with two 1K resistors in parallel, feeding into the emitter of a transistor with a +/-3V toggle on the base. The collector is connected to ground. The two probe points are (1) before the capacitor and (2) before the emitter. What is the output waveform at these two points?
