Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Super Micro Computer, Inc. (Supermicro).
Account Manager
The interview process was quite unusual. I had interviews with the Hiring Manager and a peer. However, I haven't received any updates on my application status, and it seems like they've gone silent after the interviews. I was initially told I'd be interviewing with other people.
- Could you explain your interest in Supermicro, and how effectively you can close deals within a limited 6-month account tenure?
Account Manager
I was referred to the position and spoke with the hiring manager. We scheduled the interview for around 5:00 pm, but I had to wait a bit because they were very busy. The interview was okay and included standard questions. They did mention long working hours and a tough work environment.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Account Manager
First I got a call from the Director of Sales, then I scheduled two interviews within the team. The first 'screening with Director' was basically a recruiter screening about what type of person you are. Then the two after were with the people I would work with. If I proceeded, it would've been with the VP and then hopefully an offer.
- Can you explain what a computer is?
- Could you describe the basic concepts of a computer?
- How do you handle stressful situations?
