So, first there was this online test, then an online video interview. After that, I had a 20-minute phone screen where they asked about my interest in the company and if I could do the technical stuff. The last part was a group assessment center with an individual interview with a panel member, focusing on group problem-solving.

The interview process was pretty structured and thorough. It began with an initial phone screening where they asked about my background, past projects, and availability. After that, I had a technical interview with a panel of engineers and project managers. They asked detailed questions about my experience with rigid pipeline installation, subsea structures, and metrology for spool installations. Some questions were scenario-based, where they wanted to see how I would handle unexpected challenges offshore. There was also a behavioral interview where they assessed my leadership and teamwork skills. They asked about times I had to manage conflicts on a project or adapt to sudden changes in offshore operations. Overall, the process was professional and engaging. The technical part was challenging but fair, and the behavioral questions allowed me to showcase my problem-solving abilities. I appreciated how they gave me the opportunity to discuss my past experiences in depth. After the final round, they provided feedback and later extended an offer. It was a smooth and positive experience.

I thought the interview went great. Made it through all the assessments, got to the face to face interview stage. Again, I thought it went great. Was greeted by two friendly and approachable blokes. Hit it off with them. Spoke about my previous experience and what this job entails. Imagine my disappointment when I get home and receive a voicemail saying “You have been unsuccessful at this stage. Here’s some feedback, be more elaborate with your responses to the interview questions, that’s it really” Like come on, “that’s it really”. I get knocked back for that. Seems like they don’t care what experience you have, especially when it’s 10 years of customer service experience. Nooooo as long as you’re elaborate with your answers, you’ll be fine. Highly disappointing. Suncorp, you should be ashamed. Don’t bother, unless you have a bachelor in English communication, they definitely do not care about you.

Lovely interview, completed my online hirevue and then went straight to interview in heritage lanes. Unfortunately due to uni commitments I could not commit. The position does require full time hours usually which are 30+, common in banking roles, unbeknownst to me being new, but very happy I had the chance to go to the interview and also know that my resume is competitive. I am doing my cert IV in Finance and Mortgage broking if it helps one to put it in their resume. Very happy that they are also open to someone without a degree necessarily in banking and they are willing to accept someone who wants to learn.
