The interview process involved an initial recruiting phone call, followed by a hiring manager interview, and then an interview with an SVP. After that, there was a take-home exercise, and finally, an on-site interview which consisted of three back-to-back in-person interviews. I genuinely enjoyed the interview experience. All the interviewers were very friendly, and for the most part, I had great conversations with them. Although I made it to the final round, I wasn't the one ultimately selected.

I was brought onsite for a final round interview, and at the end, I was told the position was no longer open — the person who accepted the role was starting the following week. When I asked why I had been brought in, they mentioned there was another opening they wanted to consider me for, but it offered a salary nearly $40K lower. I followed up multiple times with the recruiter but never received an update. It was a complete waste of time — please don’t have candidates take a PTO day for a position that isn’t even available.

The whole process was really disorganized. Updates were hard to come by, and things seemed to change frequently. A lot of the team members are fresh out of college, so it often felt like nobody really knew what was going on. It's also concerning that many of them lack experience working with schools. Even though the company is growing fast, they clearly have a lot of internal things to figure out. I was even told at one point that they don't mind if employees only stay for a year or two. Considering that and what's on Glassdoor, it's obvious they're focused on growth over employee retention.

After I applied, I got called for a 30-min Zoom interview. They actually moved the scheduling up by a day because of some changes. The interview felt kinda weird, not super welcoming, and the questions were not what I expected at all. Instead of asking about my background or skills, it was all about discipline: childhood virtues, middle school discipline, homework consequences, and how I handle feedback. Nothing about the job, and I couldn't even show my qualifications. The focus on consequences felt off and made me wonder about the work environment. I didn't get the job, but honestly, I was relieved. My advice is to make interviews relevant to the job and create a space for candidates to show their actual skills.
