It was a 3-step process: first a phone call with HR, then an interview with the manager and an architect in Nantes. I had to travel from Angers to Nantes for the technical interview which covered both technical skills and soft skills. The HR exchange was smooth, but after that, there was complete ghosting. No more responses despite text messages (which were seen). It was a total lack of respect for candidates, with a non-transparent and disappointing process. I would avoid it.

The interview process was straightforward. I started with an HR call, and the first round was virtual. After clearing that, the second round was in-person at the office with the project manager. A technical architect or team lead was present for the technical interview.

First, send in your CV and portfolio. If they like it, you'll chat with a recruiter over the phone about your background and why you want the job. Then, you'll likely do a coding test, either a timed challenge online or a take-home project, all about frontend stuff like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React. After that, there's a live coding session with a senior dev where you'll work through a problem and explain how you're doing it, plus answer tech questions about frontend. Finally, they'll ask behavioral questions about working with others, solving problems, and handling feedback.

I applied through a job board, the HR sent me an email for an interview via Teams, it went well with her. After a technical interview with a new project manager who works with them: the questions were prepared outside of my experience! Despite that, I answered... and I expressed my profile, she was a bit dominant in the conversation. Then I had two more interviews: Manager, and a commercial one for a future mission with a client! They told me it was like my profile was validated pending the start of the mission. All of a sudden, after tens of days, I received the negative feedback (via WhatsApp one evening) => no formal response! 4 interviews and a waste of time for nothing! Feedback with no reason, I will never recommend this new Sopra!
