Behavioral Coding Presentation

I had a zoom call with the hiring manager, then a recruiter call. After that, I was expecting a coding round and a take home project, but they scheduled 4 hours of interviews for one day without telling me it was the virtual onsite. I asked to reschedule, but didn't hear back, so I did the interviews. The first two were simple coding exercises, then a short conversation. The interviewer then sent me the take-home prompt. The fourth interview was behavioral with the head of Quality Engineering. The main part was a take-home assignment where I had to code a HIL test management and dispatching stack and then present it. They said not to over-engineer it. My code worked for all test cases, and they seemed happy with the build. However, they said I didn't go deep enough into the manual and automated test aspects, so I didn't get an offer. My feedback is that if you want to test coding skills and understanding of a complex system, give a simpler prompt and more time, or do a more classic code interview. Expecting someone to deeply understand code they just wrote in a couple days while working full-time is unrealistic.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was pretty standard. I enjoyed talking with the team and could tell they really thought about who they wanted to hire. I felt like I learned and grew from talking with Samsara's PMs, engineering managers, designers, and leaders. The process was long, but my recruiter was super nice and helpful throughout. I just wish I'd gotten more useful feedback to work on for the future and more chances to show what I can do in different ways.

Super smooth process! No interrogation feels, very conversational and comfortable. They all loved their jobs and had great energy. 1st) Phone Screening with Recruiter (Yasman is awesome and explained everything in great detail confirming a fit on both ends.) 2nd) Convo with the hiring manager (gloss over what you know about the company then speak on resume and motivations.) 3rd) Talk with 3 more managers, one being a director. 30mins each and could be scheduled one after another. Each has a theme they note in an email but basically going over motivations, cultural fit and knowledge. Boom that's it. Start to finish was just over a week.

Behavioral Case Presentation

Honestly the biggest waste of time I have ever had with a company before, and it seems like they have done this with several roles. Do not waste your time with this company. Did 7 interviews over several weeks + a 3hr case interview. When I got to the final interview with the VP, it was apparent that he had a different idea for the role then what HR and the Hiring Manager described. I heard back from HR and they noted that they cancelled/paused hiring for the role. Would stay far away from here.
