First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Samsara.
Manager
The whole interview process is extremely unstructured. Each individual interviewer had no understanding of what role/skills they are hiring for. Some of the managers took the interview, visibly lacks human part of working together - a clear sign of toxicity within the company. A sense of lack of problems they are trying to solve - they are only keen on expanding in Bangalore to take advantage of low cost workforce.

Pricing Manager
The interview process had multiple rounds: first, about a 45-minute chat with the hiring manager. Then, a take-home case-study related to the job, which honestly feels like they might be fishing for solutions from candidates. After that, there were five 45-minute interviews with different business unit leaders. It's a smaller company that's growing fast, but needing five interviews to assess fit seems like a poorly designed process. Given the current weak labor market, I guess anything goes. The selection criteria weren't clear, and the feedback I got later didn't make sense. It was hard to tell what kind of experience and background they were looking for. Also, the team is full of ex-consultants, so keep that in mind.
- How would you handle team members who aren't performing or contributing their fair share?
Applications Manager
The entire interview process was super organized and went really smoothly. The recruiting team was awesome, and my recruiter was just phenomenal. She was always on top of everything, had great energy and enthusiasm when we talked, and kept me updated on my progress. First, there was a call with the recruiter to talk about the company and the job. Then, I had an interview with the hiring manager, followed by panel interviews. The interviewers were engaging and asked tough questions, but they also let me ask questions and learn more about the role and the company.
- Could you share some behavioral examples to back up your responses?
