The interview process was pretty standard. I enjoyed talking with the team and could tell they really thought about who they wanted to hire. I felt like I learned and grew from talking with Samsara's PMs, engineering managers, designers, and leaders. The process was long, but my recruiter was super nice and helpful throughout. I just wish I'd gotten more useful feedback to work on for the future and more chances to show what I can do in different ways.

The interview process was quite long with several stages. It started with a recruiter screen, followed by a hiring manager screen. Then there was a take-home case study. After that, I had an interview loop or panel that included a live case and behavioral questions. Finally, I had a call with an executive. Honestly, the exec call felt disorganized and unprepared. It seemed like only the exec call really counted; the other rounds and case study took a lot of time and effort for little impact, regardless of how well I did.

I was headhunted for a role in Europe and went through a long, thorough recruitment process. I invested over 10 hours, which included 7 hours of interviews with various leaders and preparing a detailed case study. Unfortunately, I received a generic rejection email, which was disappointing after putting in so much effort. I had to accommodate late-night interviews (10-11pm Europe time) to align with PST schedules. I expected a more personal response, like a brief call to explain the decision and provide feedback, rather than the standard "we found a better fit" message. While that might be true, giving candidates meaningful feedback is good practice. How a company handles its recruitment process shows how they treat their people.
