First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ross Stores.
Buyer Intern
Met with a bunch of people from different departments. Lots of the same questions, like they were reading from a script. They asked a lot about teamwork, but I wish they'd told us more about what the actual internship or their jobs would be like day-to-day. It was pretty formal, with everyone scheduled at the same time and then we rotated through the interviewers.
- Can you share a time you worked in a team?
Assistant Planner
The HR Recruiter was very rude and didn't seem interested. It felt like an interrogation rather than a chat. They really dug into why I didn't get a return offer. They didn't even remember my name and called me by my last name when they rejected me. Honestly, I wouldn't have accepted the job even if they had offered it.
- Tell me about a favorite class you took.
Sales Associate
When you get there, they let you wait in the break room before the interview, which is nice so you aren't just loitering in the store. Once you get into the back, you meet with the Store Manager or an assistant manager. It feels rushed, like they don't have dedicated time for interviews and are trying to get through candidates quickly.
- Can you tell me about your availability?
- Is working on nights and weekends a problem for you?
Financial Analyst
Applied 4 months ago and then got an interview interest. There were 8 interviews total: recruiter, screening, senior manager, senior analyst, project manager 1, project manager 2, director, and VP. There were weeks in-between interviews, most were 1 hour via zoom, but the director and VP interviews were in person. With 8 interviews and weeks between them, this process took a very long time.
- Can you tell me about your experience with accruals and reconciliations?
