First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ross Stores.
Stocker
The interview process was pretty fast and not difficult, they didn't ask any tough questions. They asked about my past experience, how I manage my time, how I approach problem-solving, and my methods for handling workplace conflicts.
- How do you approach problem-solving?
Overnight Stocker
We had a group interview with two other people. Each of us got asked one question and that was it. Then they told us about the scheduling and showed us the stockroom. They mentioned the strict color dress code, requiring royal blue outerwear and no jeans, even though it's an overnight stocking job.
- Can you describe your experience with stocking or working overnight?
- What are your views on the required dress code, specifically the color and no-jeans policy for overnight stocking?
- Tell me about a time you collaborated with others to get a job done.
Stocker
The manager asked about my ability to work as a team and if I could work overtime for large truck deliveries. They also stressed the importance of punctuality and notifying management if I'm going to be late. I felt the manager was friendly and helpful with any issues that came up. My perception is that the company doesn't discriminate and treats everyone equally. The work culture is great, and we all have to wear our 'true blue' attire. My advice to other candidates is to be yourself, dress professionally, and shake hands when you first meet and again after the interview to thank the manager for their time.
- Are you able to work collaboratively with others?
- Can you work extra hours on certain days?
