Applied online for Houston, TX location. Started with a timed IQ/Personality online test. Wasn't difficult, but I only completed ~40/50 questions in time. Once completed, got an email for a virtual interview 8 days later. First interview was easy, talk about the programming languages I know, projects on my resume, work experience, etc. Simple questions like "Where do you see your career in 5 years". Was with an HR person so nothing technical. About 30 minute interview. 6 days later, got emailed about second technical interview. Second interview was 1/3 coding, 1/3 programming question, 1/3 open ended questions. Coding was simple, FizzBuzz and then debugging a program to do with memory allocation and pointer. I did it in C but had the option of C or Python. Programming questions about data structures, like "What is a linked list" with the website to draw/demonstrate. Then open ended questions like "How much experience to you have with TCP/IP". Got emailed back 8 days later "You have not been selected for the next steps in our process."
- Can you define what a linked list is?
- What is a linked list?
Administrative Assistant
The interview was conducted over Zoom, involving a large group in an office setting. The interviewer was either in another part of the building or joining remotely. I was directed to a room equipped with a large screen. The interviewer joined a few minutes after the scheduled start time.
- What is your motivation for applying to this role?
Sales Trainee
This hiring process spanned three weeks and included tests, additional email correspondence, and approximately three interview rounds. The final interview was a Zoom call where the interviewers appeared unprofessional and unprepared. They showed no interest in understanding me or my responses, seeming to just go through the motions. Despite instructions to dress business professional, both interviewers wore polos. They mentioned that success in this role depends on peer perception. Ultimately, my time felt wasted as I was overqualified for this entry-level position. I'd advise avoiding this role if you have prior professional experience.
- Can you explain your interest in Reynolds and Reynolds?
Software Implementation Specialist
The interview process was lengthy, almost 2 1/2 hours. It began with a Zoom call, followed by an online form to complete. Then, I had a meeting with the hiring manager, a tour, and separate discussions with two supervisors, totaling four interviewers. After that, I had to fill out background information related to my family and complete a saliva drug test. I received a job offer after about three days. I tried to negotiate the salary, but the offer was rescinded without explanation. The office environment seemed outdated, raising concerns during the process. The lack of explanation for the rescinded offer was particularly disappointing, suggesting they might be looking for younger, cheaper employees. It was a waste of time, but a clear sign to avoid this role.
- Do you currently use or have you previously used nicotine products?
- Are you comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people?
