Engineer
I went through multiple rounds of interviews for this role, including a coding challenge which I finished successfully and ahead of schedule. The interviewer seemed pleased and said everything looked good. However, I was rejected the same day without any explanation. I felt this was due to racism. Although I am a white candidate, it seems this company, like many in the Bay Area tech industry, shows bias in their hiring. If the situation were reversed, it would likely be considered a scandal. If you don't fit their preferred demographic, I'd advise against applying. Six interview rounds followed by an unexplained rejection is disrespectful. I suggest you avoid this company.
- Complete coding challenges related to algorithms.
Product Designer
It was a pretty standard process, but it took a long time. I got to the final rounds, which were supposed to be 6 interviews over two days. Everything was going well. But then, the day before my interview, the recruiter asked to reschedule everything because the hiring manager was out of office. The day after the interviews were supposed to happen, the hiring manager emailed to say they had closed the position. This was really frustrating and felt like a red flag to me. I'm not sure why it was all canceled so last minute, and now I'm wondering if the hiring manager was actually out of office or if that was just an excuse because they decided to close the position.
- Can you share a piece of feedback you received from colleagues and how you addressed it?

I had a chat with an hr person about the job, and then got a take-home assignment which was pretty simple. Then, I had two virtual interviews on the same day: one with my direct manager and another with the director of opps. The questions were really straightforward, mostly situational, asking what I would do in certain scenarios. They weren't really looking for right or wrong answers, more to see how I approach problems. The main thing is to show empathy and focus on the customer in your responses.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
- Given a customer issue, how would you handle it to make things right?
- Can you share an instance where you experienced success?

The interview process had 4 steps. First, I had a brief chat with Brady, my recruiter, where we discussed my past work experience, the job itself, and what to expect. Next, I did a role play with a team lead. Then, I had to complete a written assessment which involved role playing how I'd answer emails and some other questions about my work history. Lastly, I had three 30-minute interviews with the management team to learn more about the role and see if I was a good fit.
- Can you share an instance where you assisted a colleague?
- Could you walk me through your previous work experiences?
- What are your expectations for this position?
