First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moody's.
Product Specialist
This was supposed to be the 30 Minute HR screening on Teams. She then said it would follow up with a technical interview, an interview with the hiring managers and then an interview with peers. The HR person came on and said yeah, I am not putting my camera on so you can turn yours off if you want to. That let me know all I need to know. I thought the screening interview should have been in Spanish. I had another offer and when I let them know, they sent an email that they had selected someone else for the position. The same job then was posted again 45 days later.

Financial Data Analyst
If you make it past the first cut, you'll have two technical interviews lined up, usually back to back on the same day. First, you'll chat with L1 panels, and then move on to talk with senior L2 panels. The whole point of these interviews is to see how well you get the rating methodology document they give you, how you talk about your resume, and what you know about basic finance.
- Regarding financial statements, what's the impact of selling an asset at a loss?
- Could you explain the difference between FCFF and FCFE?
- If the EBIT margin is the same, what are the differences to consider?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process was quite disorganized and dragged on for a long time. I had 5 interviews, with the initial HR call happening 4 months ago. After progressing through the rounds, they finally got back to me after 1.5 months post-final interview, just to send a short message saying I wasn't selected. The HR kept saying they were waiting to finalize rounds for other candidates before making a decision, which went on for 1.5 months without any clear explanation. The whole experience felt very slow and disappointing. In the final round, I was asked to do a product demo but wasn't given any instructions or access to their portal. It was a very messy and delayed process.

Sales
I had my third round interview at their London office with two interviewers — a gentleman and a lady. The gentleman was perfectly professional, asked relevant questions, and appeared to have no hidden agenda. However, the lady — who would have been my direct manager — had clearly not reviewed my CV (she even asked about the notice period for a role I left three years ago) and proceeded to ask a series of disjointed questions. It felt as though she was more interested in extracting details about my sales approach than conducting a proper interview. At that point, I found it difficult to remain engaged and seriously considered ending the interview early. It was a rather unique experience, to say the least.
