Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Moody's.
Quantitative Researcher
The interview process had 3 rounds total. The first round was with an associate director, the second with an analyst and an associate director, and the third with a director. Some interviewers were from the New York team and others from the San Francisco team. All interviews were conducted via phone calls, and each round lasted about half an hour. The interviewers were friendly. The questions covered resume details and some basic tech topics, and were not very difficult.
- Could you start by walking me through your resume?
- Can you elaborate on your projects?
- Could you discuss your previous experience?
Quantitative Analyst
I had 2 phone calls with a Senior analyst, who asked me mostly technical questions about my school projects and courses. The technical questions were focused on statistics, specifically regression and model validation. Then, I had one call with HR about my background and motivation.
- Can you explain linear and logistic regression?
Quantitative Researcher
So I had two phone calls, each with a different person. They both started and ended with some easy HR questions, and then asked me some technical questions about statistics, programming, and math.
- Can you list the assumptions for linear regression?
