Behavioral Technical Presentation

It's a 3 step interview process. First, your resume gets screened by the recruiter, and if you make the cut, you'll get a call for a phone interview. If you do well in that, you'll get a task. The task is to prepare a deck based on a dataset to see what you do with it, and prepare a ppt deck of your analysis. The final interview will be a mock presentation of the deck you made, and the interviewees will be the "clients" you present to. Questions in the interview will focus on your approach to the task, as well as some behavioral and situational questions at the end.

The experience was quite bad. I was initially told it would be an introductory chat about past projects, but it ended up being a DSA technical round. HR should have clarified this. The interview felt uncollaborative, with the interviewer being unapproachable and dismissive of questions, just saying 'you have to think.' While I get testing problem-solving, some basic guidance would make it more constructive and less discouraging. Two questions were asked, and although I answered them, the interviewer wasn't satisfied and didn't explain what was wrong or provide failing test cases.

I applied online for a role in Sydney, and filled out a bunch of application questions in addition to my cover letter and resume. After that, I didn't hear anything back and was basically ghosted, not even a generic rejection email. Then, about 8 weeks later, I got an automated 'Meltwater 2024 Annual Wrap Up' newsletter which talked about the company's biggest wins and achievements for the year, and a corporate 'happy holidays' message. So yeah, I applied for a job, got ghosted, and they added me to their marketing email list instead.

Behavioral Case Presentation

HR was totally incompetent, couldn't understand my emails about scheduling and kept rushing me to set up interviews and a case study, but wouldn't answer basic questions about pay and benefits. They blamed it on being new, but there was no follow-up or 'I'll check' until I escalated. Once I spoke to the hiring manager, I got the deadline I wanted for the final round. The reasons they gave for not moving forward after the interview were weak and random, even though I specifically asked at the end if I met their criteria. It felt like they had already decided and just went through with the interview to make their process look legit, but my time was definitely wasted because of the HR person's incompetence.
