It started with a recruiter phone call, then a group interview with 15 people. Finally, there was a panel interview with a manager and 4 sales reps. For the group interview, they want you to stand out and show personality - make a joke, take it light, speak up in the breakout room. In the panel interview, they will do a bad cold call. The person won't be interested, but you just need to show it doesn't phase you. They will sigh and not show energy, but you need to keep yours - that's sales baby.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • In a breakout session, present a company you've seen in the news and explain how they could use Meltwater services.
  • Conduct a mock cold call where the prospect is unreceptive.

Group Presentation Behavioral Technical Other

I applied online and got an email for a phone interview the next week. After that, we scheduled an in-person interview at their city office. Before the interview, I had to complete a questionnaire with almost 20 questions. They told me the interview would be from 9-11 am, but it didn't start until 9:10 am because one more person had to arrive. It turned out to be a group interview with about 9 candidates and 9 members of the Meltwater management team. They gave a PowerPoint presentation about the company, PR suite/Marketing, and office structure. After an hour, we introduced ourselves and were told we'd do a group presentation after a 15-minute break. When we returned, we were split into groups and had to pick a company that could benefit from Meltwater, then present why, even without knowing much about their services. After that, we had one minute to sell one of our passions, which was funny. Those impressive in public speaking were invited back for a solo panel interview, which wasn't mentioned until the end of the group interview. I got the call in the afternoon for the panel interview, which started much later. There were 5 management team members. The questions were fast-paced, designed to make you challenge them and rebut. There was some role-playing to see how quickly we could think. The whole thing took all day, and they didn't mention it would be a group process beforehand. The office is nice, the team is young and friendly, and it seems like a fun, challenging company.

We talked about sales background, the position, and what the company was like in a group setting. There were about 15 people there, and they did a presentation and then a roundtable where candidates answered different questions. People got called back for another round if they were interested. Overall, it was a good process, though having so many people made it a bit tough.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you share your sales experience and then pitch a product?
  • Share your experience in sales and come up with a product to pitch.
