I had three interviews after applying. First, I talked to an internal recruiter, then the manager, and finally the head of the department. Everything was pretty straightforward and felt like a normal conversation. They asked about my background and experience. Standard interview stuff, nothing too surprising.

This interview experience was really rough with a lot of issues. The first interview was okay. It was just a typical HR intro call over the phone with one person. Then, for the second part of the process, they had this virtual group interview with everyone else applying for the same job. There were about 20 of us in the Zoom call. This call lasted about 2.5 hours. For the first hour, they explained their product, Meltwater. The remaining time was spent with candidates answering questions. They only asked maybe 3-4 questions total. They literally called on every single person to answer the same question. It was super boring. There was no chance to talk to the managing director directly or anything. The questions were really easy, and it didn't matter if you prepared or not. They apparently pick people for the next round based on looks and gut feeling. Even though I felt like I was too smart and had more experience than everyone else during the Zoom, I didn't move on.

We had a 5 hour interview process with all 10 applicants in one room interviewing with 8 execs. The process was very tough and tedious. A great way to weed out weak applicants.
