lumenalta recruiter contacted me first on 15/12/25 mentioning multiple positions and that my tech evaluation would decide which role I'd be placed in. I cleared the coding round on 18/12/2025. On 23/12/2025, I got invited for a technical assessment with a senior developer, which went well. On 02/01/2026, the recruiter called me for feedback after a 5-minute conversation. I learned that after the two interviews, I qualified as a series A candidate, and the solution could be handed over to me with sole ownership. My client round was scheduled for the next few days. It's been a month since that last chat.

It was pretty simple to apply. I did the usual form on their site, but then they hit me with a voice recording request, which was kinda weird and I put it off. Before I even got to that, they emailed me for a video interview. They also sent a technical test, but the link was broken. I emailed the recruiter to try and get a working link since I wanted to do it before the zoom call, but still no response. The person on the zoom call was super fast and felt like a robot, kinda cold. They stuck to their script and spoke really quickly, like they do this all the time, but it didn't feel very personal. They asked some standard questions about my previous role, what I enjoyed about a project, and my career aspirations.

I applied for a Solution Architect job in Madrid. An HR person reached out, and we talked about my career goals and what I want in a job. They confirmed my profile was a good fit and mentioned there were several similar openings. Since I've worked in consulting before, I understood and decided to move forward. The day after I submitted a coding assignment, the same HR person called me unexpectedly, without any prior notice or email, to discuss my salary expectations. They asked if I'd be willing to lower them. I asked how much, but they were vague, saying I should name a figure. I reminded them of my initial expectations and asked again about the specific role. The recruiter said it was for the Solution Architect role I applied for. I agreed to consider a reduction, but only for the Solution Architect position, and mentioned that I might accept a lower salary for that role. Apparently, the client was in the US. Then, I had a technical interview with an evaluator. Just a heads-up, they record all interviews except the salary renegotiation call. During the Q&A, I asked about the project and the role, and they told me it was a developer position. I said that was fine, but I had applied for a Solution Architect role. After the technical interview, I never heard back from them.
