Tech Lead
I was contacted by a recruiter and initially ignored them due to negative interview experiences I'd heard. After more contact, I decided to proceed, expressing my concerns. I was assured the bad stories weren't true, but unfortunately, they were. The process began with a recruiter call where salary expectations were discussed, and they heavily promoted the benefits of being a 1099 employee, suggesting it was acceptable to earn less than market rate due to tax write-offs. This strategy, while offering tax benefits, can negatively impact loan qualifications. Following this, there was a coding test on the Devskiller platform, which was somewhat buggy. I completed all questions successfully, but then experienced complete silence, with my follow-up emails to the recruiter going unanswered. This company is a waste of time, and I regret not heeding the negative reviews, which are unfortunately accurate warnings.
- Will be given a code project with some parts missing or incomplete. You will need to fix those issues.
- Look up Devskiller.
Tech Lead
It started with a recruiter call, then an online quiz, and then an interview with the founder Kuty Shalev. The first two stages were fine, pretty standard. The interview with the founder was a bit strange. He liked my background but thought my proposed start date was too late. I explained I had a 3-month notice period, but it didn't seem to matter. After that, I never heard back, not even a rejection. That's why it was a bad experience for me - felt pretty rude not to communicate. They should have been direct if they weren't interested.
- Can you discuss your professional background?
Tech Lead
It started with a Zoom screening where we talked about my background, experience, and salary expectations. They were upfront that they pay on the lower end and wanted to get that out of the way early. Then, I had separate chats with the CEO, President, and more HR folks. The salary offers kept going down with each chat until they made an initial offer that had some tough extra conditions. Finally, they came back with a lower financial offer but with better terms.
- Can you describe a situation where your team encountered a problem and explain how you handled it?
