My interview experience with Lennar was professional but ultimately frustrating. Everyone I spoke with was polite and respectful, including HR, the IT Director, and the technical team. However, the process took much longer than originally indicated. It lasted over a month and included multiple rounds: an HR screening, an interview with the IT Department Director, and a final panel with team members from engineering and architecture. The waiting time between stages felt unusually long and made the process more exhausting than expected. Lennar is not a technology company, and that seemed reflected in the structure of the IT organization, which appeared relatively small. There also seems to be a strong interest in adopting AI across the business, but it gave the impression that many non-technical stakeholders want to influence technical decisions. It will be interesting to see how that develops over time. Another concern was the sense of instability, especially with recent layoffs. For candidates looking for strong career growth, skill development, and long-term stability, this may not be the ideal environment. Overall, the people were kind and professional, but the lengthy process and concerns about stability made the experience less positive than expected.

So I had an interview with this person, she was really rigid and didn't seem to have much personality. At the end, she told me I'd need to interview with another sales manager and that her assistant would call to set it up. I sent a thank you email, but after days of no response, I followed up again. I was then told they had limited space in that region, which made no sense why they'd interview me! Well, about a month later, I applied for the same job but in a different city. The same person who did the first interview called me to set up a virtual interview with the same manager I'd already met. I mentioned this, and she said she'd call the manager, check her schedule, and call me back the next day. That was almost two weeks ago, and I've heard nothing. I've emailed twice. This company's behavior is completely unprofessional.

The interview process consists of 4 stages. First, there was an 'informal' phone call with the recruiter where we discussed general info like my background, reasons for leaving my current job and wanting this role, and salary expectations. The salary range was also shared. The second stage was a video call with the direct manager. We went over technical aspects of the role, my past experience, and how I've handled difficult situations. They also asked about my connections with consultants and municipal staff. The third stage was an in-person interview with the direct manager and the department manager. The final, fourth stage was an in-person interview with the Division President.

We flew you out to Miami for the process. You'll have a 1 on 1 with the hiring manager for the location/role you selected. Your interview can vary drastically based on who you get matched with... some get extremely technical while others focus more on behavioral and soft skills, others may ask you to walk through your resume. It's purely interviewer dependent.
