Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lennar.
Staff Accountant
It was a pretty straightforward and efficient interview process with three stages, mostly involving hypothetical behavioral questions. This was at the start of COVID, so things might be different now.
- Tell me about a time you encountered challenges at work.
Accountant
I applied online and got a call two days later from someone in the accounting department to schedule an onsite interview in 2 days. The next day, they called again to reschedule for the same day, but in the afternoon. The parking situation was bad, I had to wait to get a spot. At the lobby, I had to wait while the front desk person finished a personal chat. I also had to fill out a paper application even though I already submitted one online. Then I waited about 15 minutes for my interviewer. The interviewer mentioned that I didn't have construction experience three times, even though she was the one who called me and should have known that beforehand. I tried to stay positive, but it was pretty unprofessional overall.
- Can you describe your work background?
Accountant
I spoke with the Division's Controller. They told me about the job and what it entails. We talked about how my background would be a good fit for the company. It was a professional yet friendly chat. This was the first interview, and it lasted about an hour. It's a big company. I think the feedback was that I seemed nervous, which might have made me appear less professional or confident than I should have been.
- Can you tell me about your experience using JD Edwards software?
