Data Engineer Intern
Got shortlisted from Naukri.com. First was a written test covering basic Maths, reasoning, Statistics, Machine Learning, SQL (very important), and Puzzles (very important, as the interview depended on these). Then, a Technical Interview where the panel mostly asked about the Puzzles from the written test, Statistics, ML basics like false-positive and false-negative, SQL, Redshift, EC2, and Glue. Following that was a Techno-managerial round focusing on SQL, a case study, and behavioral questions. Finally, HR.
- Can you explain mean, median, and mode, and how you would compute them?
Workforce Coordinator
I'm pretty disappointed with how this hiring process went down. I interviewed for this job over a month ago and they told me it would probably take a couple of weeks to hear back. Well, it's been way over a month and I haven't heard anything, not even a rejection. I checked LinkedIn and it looks like they hired someone internally for the role (they were already at Kaplan). It makes me wonder why they even bothered interviewing external people if they already had someone in mind. The interview itself was mostly competency-based questions, like 8-10 of them. I admit I didn't have direct experience for everything they asked about, but I was upfront about that. Still, the lack of communication and transparency has been a bummer. Honestly, given this experience, I'd think twice about recommending applying here because it says a lot about how they treat candidates.
- Can you discuss your experience with financial planning?
Tutor
The interview for a tutor role at Kaplan felt longer than I thought it would be. After applying online, I had a phone interview where the questions seemed a bit canned and didn't really match the actual teaching job. The mock lesson was nerve-wracking because they didn't explain what they wanted very well. It felt a bit cold and too much like everyone else's experience.
- Describe how you'd explain a hard topic to a student who's feeling upset or losing motivation.
Software Engineer
I got a call from Naukri on July 18 for an interview. The first round was the very next day, July 19. Since it was Friday, I waited until Monday for the results. I called the HR at 6 pm, and she asked me to call back in 30 mins. I called back at 6:30 pm but she didn't pick up, and subsequent calls also went unanswered. Some people got emails saying they weren't selected. I sent a follow-up email to the HR who scheduled the aptitude round on the same day, but no reply. The next day, I sent another follow-up email to the HR who initially called me about the job, but still no reply. I called her again at 6 pm, but she kept ignoring my calls. It's frustrating because a quick email or call response takes only a few minutes, and I spent 1.5 days preparing for the test. Everyone deserves feedback after an interview, but I'm still being ignored after multiple follow-ups.
