The interview for a tutor role at Kaplan felt longer than I thought it would be. After applying online, I had a phone interview where the questions seemed a bit canned and didn't really match the actual teaching job. The mock lesson was nerve-wracking because they didn't explain what they wanted very well. It felt a bit cold and too much like everyone else's experience.

It started with a 5 min video, then an informal online chat with the hiring manager. After that, there was a 15 min online teaching session with about 6 tutors. The final part was a 20 min in-person teaching session with 6 tutors, followed by an interview with 2 members of the management team.

We had a quick chat about my resume with the head of the school, it was super chill. Then I did a practice lesson with some students. She gave me feedback mainly on how my lesson fit what they were looking for at the school, rather than my background.
