Senior Software Engineer
I went for a Java Backend Developer job back in October 2025. It was just one round, but super technical. They really focused on algorithms, coding in Java, and understanding backend security. The interviewer had me write code using collections and algorithms, then talk about how efficient it was and how to make it more secure with validation and best practices. It was pretty tough, and they're definitely looking for people with solid Java skills and experience designing secure backends. The interviewer was to the point, and it moved fast, so I had to get good at thinking out loud while coding. I didn't get the job, but it was a good way to see what they're really after in terms of technical skills and security awareness.
- Could you implement an LRU cache in Java and describe why you selected that particular data structure?
Test Automation Engineer
I went to the ICE Pune hiring drive on Nov 22nd, which was a full day from 10 AM to 5:30 PM IST and had many evaluation rounds. It started with a coding round where we had to solve one out of four problems. Then there was a technical chat about Java, Selenium, Git, and CI/CD. The next round was different for people; some had questions about daily QA tasks and Agile, others had deep technical talks on API testing and coding. After that, a quick HR chat about usual stuff. A VP talked next about the job, what the team needs, why I want to join ICE, and if I'm okay with a 5-day office week. Even after these 5 rounds in one day, no one told us where we stood or what's next. About two weeks later, I was called for another technical chat about a project, lasted almost an hour. Still no word or feedback. A week after that, I was invited for yet another technical chat for a different project, about 45 minutes. Even after 7 rounds, still no clue about selection, what they expect, or the result. The interviewers were professional and the talks were good technically, but the lack of clear info, slow replies, and repeated technical tests without feedback made it confusing and a letdown. Better communication on results and expectations at each step would really improve things for candidates, especially after putting in so much time and effort. I still think ICE is a good company and learned a lot, but a more organized and open interview process would set expectations better for us.
- Are you okay with coming to the office 5 days a week?
Market Regulation Intern
Applied around the end of December and got an offer by early February. It started with a standard application and some online tests. Then, there was an HR phone screening where they asked about why I wanted to intern and if I could commit to 5 days in the office. The first round had two interviews back-to-back, focusing on my resume, past experiences, and extracurriculars. The final round was with directors, involving a presentation and then a Q&A, followed by a final interview. They gave us topics for the presentation or we could choose our own. The interview part was similar to the first round. The interviews felt very conversational and friendly, aimed at assessing skills and how well I'd fit the company culture. Difficulty was average for an internship.
- Can you tell me about your skills and experiences that are relevant to data analysis?
Tax Analyst
So I started with a recruiter call, she said I'd hear back by a date and I didn't, which was kinda a bummer. After I emailed her, she mentioned a panel interview was coming up with the manager, director, and senior director. It was supposed to be 30 mins but went a bit over to 45 mins, and I think it went pretty well. The next day, the recruiter was like, "Great feedback!" and asked me to do some paperwork. Then, I had to chase them like, multiple times for the next steps, and they didn't give me any timeline. After waiting a whole month, they finally told me they were going with someone else. Super frustrating, honestly. Wouldn't suggest it.
